ELA State Exam will be given on April 17-20. Here is what students will be doing by day.
4/17- Day 1 (90 minutes)
Book 1- 7 Reading Passages- 39 multiple choice
4/18- Day 2 (90 minutes)
Book 2- Listening Selection- 5 multiple choice
3 short response (3-5 sentences)
1 long response (3-5 paragraphs)
2 Reading Passages- 13 multiple choice
4/19-Day 3 (90 minutes)
Book 3- 2 Reading Passages (paired)- 4 short response
1 long response
4/20- make-up day for any student absent on previous days.

Tonight's Homework: Finish reading chapter 9 of TKAM.
Extra Credit Opportunity: Read the following quote from chapter 9 (pages 75 and 76) and answer the following question in a paragraph.
"If you shouldn't be defendin' him (Tom Robinson), then why are you doin' it?"
"For a number of reasons," said Atticus. "The main one is, if I didn't I couldn't hold up my head in town, I couldn't represent this county in the legislature, I couldn't even tell you or Jem not to do something again."
"You mean if you didn't defend that man, Jem and me wouldn't have to mind you any more?"
"That's about right."
"Why?"
Explain what Atticus means. What does him defending Tom have to do with telling Scout and Jem what to do? What lesson is he trying to teach Scout about right and wrong?

Today, we'll be back in the computer lab to finish our Voki's for To Kill a Mockingbird. Please make sure to listen to and proofread your paragraphs as these will eventually be presented!
Homework: All classes should be finished with chapter 9 for tomorrow. Study guides will be collected on Friday, March 9. Make sure all parts are completed (Including the vocabulary section)!
