Tomorrow, students will take the unit test for To Kill a Mockingbird. This test counts as the third cumulative task for the year. I am giving students a choice for the written response. They may write it tonight at home, or tomorrow during class. It will count the same either way.
Here it is:
Our entire novel unit revolves around the essential question: What is tolerance and how can we promote it? In the novel, Atticus says, "You never really understand a person until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
-What does Atticus mean by this statement?
-Discuss one instance in shich Jem/Scout learn the meaning of this. Be sure to explain how they learn it.
-How can we promote tolerance?
